A Midsummer Daydream
The Inaugural Golf Greece Junior Open Brought Together 71 Young Golfers from Across Greece
With the participation of 71 junior golfers aged 5 to 17, the 1st Golf Greece Junior Open concluded on Sunday, 5 July 2026. The new nationwide Junior Golf Tournament was organized by Golf Greece with the invaluable support of Logika and Kilada Golf and sanctioned by Glyfada Golf Club of Athens.
The Golf Greece Junior Open celebrated Greek golf by bringing together young golfers from the academies of Glyfada Golf Club of Athens, Attikos Golf Club, Athena Golf Club, Theodore Vassilakis Golf Association, Messinia Golf Club and Peloponnese Golf Club, reflecting the growing momentum of the sport among younger generations. The competition featured four divisions, designed to accommodate every stage of junior player development:
Competition Zone: 18 Holes (Gross & Net)
Development Zone: 9 Holes (Stableford)
Progress Zone: 6 Holes (Stableford, Forward Markers)
Future Zone: 3 Holes, Introductory Division
Particular emphasis was placed on providing a high quality tournament experience, offering young participants the opportunity to compete in an event with official scoring, support from national team players and athletes who assisted with the guidance and scoring of the younger divisions, goodie bags containing golf essentials (golf balls, tees, divot tool, ball marker, sunscreen, insulated water bottles and caps), live coverage from selected holes on a LED wall located in the clubhouse garden, as well as professional photography and videography throughout the day.
Following the completion of play, participants enjoyed dinner and the awards ceremony at Colonial, while also having the opportunity to take part in interactive VR activations and other entertainment activities. Winners received valuable prizes including family stay-and-play packages at popular Greek golf destinations (Crete Golf Club, Porto Carras Golf Club, Corfu Golf Club and Afandou Golf Course), annual memberships at Golf Chamber for all winners, as well as a private family sailing cruise with BBQ courtesy of Sailing Athens.
